Welcome To Aspect Support Group

Aspect support group was formed by request from families/carers (via Making Space) supporting someone (18+) with Asperger syndrome which may also include mental health difficulties across Bradford and Airedale.

With no specific support group for families/carers dealing with adult Asperger’s nor easily accessible, available information on how to deal with the many difficulties and barriers  accessing services and support for families it was felt a support group was needed. Aspect wants to try to address these issues and raise awareness for those they support with an Autistic Spectrum condition.
 
People with Asperger’s are often bypassed or overlooked by services as professionals and society can misunderstand this condition, leaving them and their families failing to receive any support, 'falling' through services,  or even getting an inappropriate one.

Together we want to try to make a difference for easier access to support, information and services needed for families and those they support even where there is no formal diagnosis.
